Jim
Jim is an HR interim manager, whose significant exposure to senior HR roles has provided an understanding of how long-term bottom line benefits are linked to a skilled and motivated workforce. Much of his career was in demanding and competitive environments where speed of response, high level customer care skills and service delivery were vital.
Jim has been recognised by colleagues as a bridge-builder, a counsellor to senior executives and brings balance to teams in difficult and changing organisational situations.
Jim’s career spans more than 30 years of both corporate and interim management roles. His corporate career culminated in his appointment as HR Director for RAC Autowindscreens, where he was an operational board member delivering main board objectives including market leadership through organic and acquisitive growth. Reporting to the Managing Director, Jim led the HR integration following purchase of a main competitor, developed and oversaw an industry-leading training and development centre which delivered over 300 NVQs.
Jim’s key achievements include:
- Being a key member of a newly formed management team which drove a 30% year on year revenue increase.
- Developing specialist online knowledge-sharing groups with professionals within blue chip companies.
- Leading the recruitment of a 30% increase in employee headcount across IT, consulting and design functions.
- Developing career paths for the company’s talent pool including retention of key IT staff against trends.
- Opening a learning resource centre with strategic supply partner which became a regional exemplar.
- Developing and delivering company-wide employee opinion survey with union partner support.
- Operating as a HR Director on a five-person operational board - national business, 150 sites.
- Developing a UK Centre of excellence for training.
